We are pleased to share an update we've been working on for the better part of a year alongside the legal team at Agudelo–Manrique Abogados, with the close support of Manuel Alejandro Romero Burbano — an attorney with more than 14 years of experience in corporate law, who has worked with companies like Colombina and Microsoft, and taught at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali.

Professionalism and human quality have to travel together. That belief is the reason we chose this team, and the reason we took the time to do this properly.

— Kevin Ocampo, CEO, Ocampo Expeditions S.A.S.

I had the privilege of being Manuel Alejandro's student in Property Law during my own studies at Javeriana. Years later, working with him on our corporate framework has been a full-circle experience — and a reminder that the people you build a company with matter as much as the work itself.

What changed

We are now officially Ocampo Expeditions S.A.S. This is more than a name change. Over the past months we have reviewed and tightened every legal and operational pillar of the company:

  • Corporate structure — formal incorporation as S.A.S. under Colombian law.
  • Terms and conditions — fully revised, published and easy to consult on this site.
  • Information management — data handling policies and privacy notices aligned with current regulation.
  • Brand registration — protecting the Ocampo Expeditions name and identity.
  • Contracts — clearer agreements with clients, suppliers and field guides.

Why this matters for our clients

For travellers, the practical effect is straightforward: a clearer, more reliable service backed by a company that operates transparently. Quotes, deposits, refunds, liability, photo rights and data handling are now governed by documents written to international standards — not by improvisation.

For our network of guides, lodges and ground operators in Colombia, it means a more stable relationship and contracts that respect everyone's work.

What hasn't changed

The way we run tours in the field. The same guides, the same itineraries, the same long-standing relationships with reserves and lodges across Colombia — and the same belief that birding and wildlife photography travel is, above all, a craft. The legal scaffolding is there so the craft can do its work.

If you'd like to read the updated framework directly, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice are linked from the footer of every page. And if you'd like to talk about a trip, we're here for that too.
